Make Preschool Learning Fun – District 2
We had a small group that included people from several different schools around South GA attend who are new to the GPA.
The smaller group allowed us time to complete several art projects while learning about process art from A to Z.
The nursery rhyme session helped us learn to incorporate classic nursery rhymes in new ways through art, music, movement, and more.
We learned the benefits of nursery rhymes and art for literacy development and reading success. Thank you Donna for a great training!
District 3
Get Troup Reading and the Georgia Preschool Association welcomed 58 educators for our annual Falling into Literacy training November 2nd. Participants discovered new ideas for circle time, small group activities, and inspiration for art in the Nursery Rhyme Nouveau workshop presented by Donna Moyer.
Here's what teachers said about the event:
Thank you for a great training, good ideas, great speaker, and delicious food!
Relearning things that had been forgotten and added new things to do with rhymes.

Back to the Basics 2024
On July 27th, the District 4 summer training took place at Saint Philip AME Church in Decatur. We had a wonderful day with exciting training and fellowship.
Donna Moyer, Leathia Lipscomb, Cheryl Turner, and Leslie Epps filled the day with exciting art, music, literacy, and movement classes.
Teachers from Antioch and Berean Child Development Centers attended the event thanks to the generosity of a South Dekalb non-profit. South Dekalb Improvement Association Education (SDIAE) provided scholarships for teachers in the South DeKalb area who were from non-profit centers.
The day ended with a Kid’s Yoga session, helping teachers to include mental health calming moments throughout the day that will help children and teachers!
Thanks Georgia Preschool Association for another successful Back to the Basics event!

District 5 training was held at Holy Family Preschool in Marietta on November 9th. We learned some great ideas from Caitlin Felps on how to implement STEM in a preschool classroom. We enjoyed lively hands on experiences of building boats from tin foil and towers from plastic cups!
We also appreciated the information and wisdom shared by Donna Moyer about how to build good relationships with parents! A huge thanks to Hand2Mind for joining us with amazing resources and even door prizes!

Natalie Jones, a Storyteller & Puppeteer, led the GAME ON session where participants learned how to use fun & games to achieve their curriculum goals.
Donna Moyer, Creator of Learning at the Teacher Table, shared the Transition Toolbox workshop. Teachers gathered oodles of ideas to make transitions in their classrooms flow easily, be educational, and productive.
